WELL-CHILD EXAMS
For children ages
0-5 years with or without Medicaid coverage, the acceptable Medicaid
will be Health Care USA and Missouri Care. The health screenings are
age appropriate and may include height/weight/head circumference, vision/hearing
screenings lead/iron screenings, urinalysis, blood pressure, Denver
Developmental screening, counseling about dental health, feeding your
child, growth & development, behavior and discipline. Parenting education,
Immunizations, Referrals for special problems or illness. Clinics are
once a month mornings only. Appointments are necessary.

IMMUNIZATIONS
Infants, children
and adult immunizations, Flu shots available seasonally. Our regular shot clinics are usually on the 2nd Thursday of the
month, 8:00 am to 11:00 am and 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm, bring a shot record.
We will immunize children that are unable to make the shot clinic on
a walk in basis on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Some adult vaccines may require special
ordering.

LEAD SCREENING
Lead Risk Assessment
testing (usually with a doctor's order and an appointment) Education
to prevent lead exposure - how to reduce blood lead levels after exposure
and referrals.

NEWBORN SCREENINGS
We offer newborn
screenings (PKU blood test) or repeat newborn screenings with your doctor's
order. This blood test checks for certain medical conditions. The Missouri
Department of Health conducts a screening program for newborns to detect:
Phenylketonuria, Hypothyroidism, Galactosemia, and Sickle Cell Anemia.
The goal is to detect the affected newborn and initiate treatment early
in life to prevent early in life to prevent the devastating affects
of mental retardation or other complications. By appointment only.

FAMILY PLANNING
This program provides
a pelvic exam, breast exam, Pap test, and a physical exam done by a
qualified nurse practitioner. There are various birth control options
available such as birth control pills, birth control patch, Depo-Provera, diaphragm, foam
and condoms. Education about various topics is discussed. On your first
visit blood work, hgb, and urine dipstick may be done. At this time, we use a fee for service scale that is based on family size and monthly income. This determines the cost of your services. Medicaid may also be billed.

SHOW ME HEALTHY WOMEN
This is also known as Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Project. It provides a pelvic exam, breast exam, Pap test, and physical exam done by a qualified nurse practitioner. Mammograms are also provided through this program to eligible women. Please call for an appointment and to find out eligibility guidelines.

SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASE (STD)
Education and screening for common STD's are done
along with treatment as indicated. Referrals are also done as needed. Confidential HIV testing is done
as needed. Please call for an appointment.

TUBERCULOSIS (TB)
TB skin testing is provided for a minimal charge. Also treatment for active and
infectious TB is provided along with follow-up per physician's order.

W.I.C. (WOMEN, INFANTS,
AND CHILDREN
WIC is a nutrition program that helps mothers and young children eat well and stay healthy. To receive WIC you must meet the WIC income guidelines and have a need for improved nutrition. To be a participant you can be a woman who is pregnant, breast-feeding or whose pregnancy recently ended, an infant under 12 months of age or a child until he or she reaches their fifth birthday, whichever comes first. You will receive checks to buy foods, nutrition and health education, personal counseling about nutrition, support and help with breast-feeding, and referrals to other health programs for you and your family. Please call our health center and schedule an appointment or if you have any questions regarding the WIC program.

PRENATAL CARE
Prenatal health
care and education during pregnancy, Certified OB/GYN Nurse Practitioner
provides health care at the Health Center. Referrals to OB Doctors as
needed. Choice of Capital Region Medical Center, St. Mary's Hospital
in Jefferson City or University Missouri Hospital and Clinics in Columbia
for delivery. Ultrasound done at hospital of delivery.
